In Malice we meet our main characters, Alice and Bandit. A race to save the world from an unknown threat, voices in your head from the future. It made the plot feel extra fresh, unique and exciting to me. I love that Malice is unlike most of the books I typically read about. I love seeing how the author is going to work out the mechanics of time travel, and I think that Pintip Dunn did a great job, making the whole thing seem plausible. I also loved the romance element, and even though I don’t read a ton of novels that feature time travel, I always do seem to be pretty interested in the how of it all. This book immediately drew me in and captured my attention. Pretty dire stakes, right? I think one of the best parts about Malice was the writing. Malice was a fast paced story to try and save the world from a virus that if left unchecked would wipe out two/thirds of the world’s population. Malice is a young adult time traveling science fiction story by Pintip Dunn. But how can I play chess with someone who already knows the outcome of my every move? Someone so filled with malice they’ve lost all hope in humanity? Well, I’ll just have to find a way-because now they’ve drawn a target on the only boy I’ve ever loved. Because I’m starting to realize no one is telling the truth. In a race against the clock, I not only have to figure out his identity, but I’ll have to outwit a voice from the future telling me to kill him. What I know: a boy in my school will one day wipe out two-thirds of the population with a virus.
